Latina brings more than two decades of experience in retail and customer service jobs to her work at North Helpline.

She previously worked as a food and beverage supervisor at Delta Hotels by Marriott,

ensuring people were satisfied with their meals, that needed supplies were purchased, and forecasting how many people would be coming to a banquet or to dinner.

Latina said she has always enjoyed helping people. So when she saw the job posted for office and facilities coordinator  “I said it’s right up my alley.”

Her wide-ranging duties include ensuring the organization’s three offices run smoothly with tasks such as coordinating maintenance on its vans and trucks, stocking office supplies and troubleshooting and maintaining office machines.

She also helps with food distribution and home delivery packaging.

Latina said she was drawn to the work, seeing North Helpline as an organization that provides emergency services with its “food banks that help people who are in need or low income or need a little help.”

She thinks of herself as a problem solver — “I love it” —  and someone who can juggle  multiple tasks. “It keeps you busy.”
