Louren joins our team after many years of working “ to make the world a better place for other people.”

To this end, they have a wide breadth of experience working with others. For nearly a decade, Louren worked in bilingual schools with English language learners. This was followed by several years focused on learning more about neighbors experiencing acute mental health crises and navigating substance use, as well as seniors adjusting to the cognitive effects of aging.

More recently, Louren has been focused on food justice and expanding access to adequate food resources for people living in the Puget Sound area.

“I’m excited to have the opportunity to focus on deeper service to North Helpline’s neighbors as the Food Access Director. I look forward to learning more about what North Helpline’s neighbors need most, and how we can work together to develop opportunities to meet those needs.”

In their free time, Louren enjoys knitting, reading (queer science-fiction and fantasy mostly), playing in and DMing TTRPGs, being outside in and near water, simple electrical builds and repairs (including fixing guitars and building effects pedals), and listening to music.

Louren is fluent in English and has a working proficiency in Spanish.
